Erin & The Lens: Turning Darkness into Light Through Ethereal Sound

Erin Luna Gallagher, originally from Sligo and now based in Cork, is the voice and creative force behind Erin & The Lens.

Erinโ€™s musical journey began in childhood, shaped by the poetry of W.B. Yeats, her familyโ€™s love of music, and the rugged beauty of Sligo. However, her path was marked by severe bullying and personal trauma, which she channelled into writing poems and melodies she kept private for years.

At 30, after friends encouraged her to share her voice, Erin overcame her fears and formed Erin & The Lens. The bandโ€™s name reflects her belief that โ€œwe all perceive reality differently depending on our circumstances.โ€

Musical Journey: Late Bloomer to Fearless Performer

Erin started singing professionally at 30, a โ€œlate bloomerโ€ by her own admission. The music you will hear blends with soul, rock, blues, and jazz with an โ€œethereal underbelly,โ€ creating a sound that defies rigid labels.

Her songwriting process is collaborative and spontaneous. She works with musicians to compose tracks, drawing inspiration from her life experiences.

Fans often describe her lyrics as โ€œspeaking truth and love,โ€ with phrases like โ€œyou make me feel seenโ€ and โ€œI felt like it was a reiki sessionโ€ highlighting their emotional impact.

Erinโ€™s music stands out for its unflinching honesty. Fans praise her โ€œenchantingโ€ stage presence, โ€œhauntingโ€ vocals, and โ€œamazing musicianship.โ€

She connects with audiences by focusing on shared struggles: โ€œWeโ€™re all a little fucked up and donโ€™t know what weโ€™re at half the time!โ€ Her lyrics blend compassion, fiery frustration, and a deep understanding of human imperfection.

Current Projects & Goals: EP Launch & Legacy

Erin & The Lens are currently preparing for their EP launch and focused on releasing more music in 2025, which will feature tracks inspired by resilience and healing.

Her ultimate goal is to โ€œhelp people feel seen and heard through their battles in lifeโ€ and create art that leaves a legacy. With over a decade of work in social care, she is passionate about supporting women and childrenโ€™s well-being.

Personal Interests: Fire, Nature, and Spirituality

Outside music, Erin is a keen fire performer (inspiring her song Wildfire), a nature lover, and a student of psychology, shamanism, and witchcraft. These interests shape her music, as she explores themes of transformation and human behavior.
