Erin Luna Gallagher, originally from Sligo and now based in Cork, is the voice and creative force behind Erin & The Lens.
Erin’s musical journey began in childhood, shaped by the poetry of W.B. Yeats, her family’s love of music, and the rugged beauty of Sligo. However, her path was marked by severe bullying and personal trauma, which she channelled into writing poems and melodies she kept private for years.
At 30, after friends encouraged her to share her voice, Erin overcame her fears and formed Erin & The Lens. The band’s name reflects her belief that “we all perceive reality differently depending on our circumstances.”
Erin started singing professionally at 30, a “late bloomer” by her own admission. The music you will hear blends with soul, rock, blues, and jazz with an “ethereal underbelly,” creating a sound that defies rigid labels.
Her songwriting process is collaborative and spontaneous. She works with musicians to compose tracks, drawing inspiration from her life experiences.
Fans often describe her lyrics as “speaking truth and love,” with phrases like “you make me feel seen” and “I felt like it was a reiki session” highlighting their emotional impact.

She connects with audiences by focusing on shared struggles: “We’re all a little fucked up and don’t know what we’re at half the time!” Her lyrics blend compassion, fiery frustration, and a deep understanding of human imperfection.
Erin & The Lens are currently preparing for their EP launch and focused on releasing more music in 2025, which will feature tracks inspired by resilience and healing.
Her ultimate goal is to “help people feel seen and heard through their battles in life” and create art that leaves a legacy. With over a decade of work in social care, she is passionate about supporting women and children’s well-being.
Outside music, Erin is a keen fire performer (inspiring her song Wildfire), a nature lover, and a student of psychology, shamanism, and witchcraft. These interests shape her music, as she explores themes of transformation and human behavior.
Erin & The Lens will perform a stripped-back, ethereal set at Out Of Order Dublin on 20th February at Fibber Magees. For fans craving a full-band experience, they return to Little Whelan’s in Dublin on 20th April.
