From his early days in Lisbon, Portugal, to becoming a well-known name in Dublin’s Drum’n’Bass scene, wAh has spent years perfecting his craft—not as a producer, but as a masterful DJ who understands how to read a room and create unforgettable sets.
Unlike many DJs who dive straight into electronic music, wAh’s journey began with the guitar. Music was always a part of his life, but it wasn’t until he moved to Dublin in his 20s that he found himself drawn into the world of electronic beats.
“In my early years, I was all about the guitar. But once I moved to Ireland, I found myself drawn to electronic music. Before I knew it, I was deep into DJing. The rest, as they say, is bass history.”
This transition wasn’t just about shifting genres—it was about discovering a new way to tell stories through music. Unlike playing a single instrument, DJing allowed him to blend different elements, curate moods, and control the energy of an entire room.
While many DJs also produce their own tracks, wAh has taken a different approach. His passion isn’t in creating new music—it’s in digging deep, discovering the best tracks, and seamlessly blending them into something fresh.
“I put together my own DJ mixes, but I can’t take credit for the tracks themselves. I like to think of it as musical storytelling using other people’s best chapters.”
For him, DJing is an art form centered around selection. Every set is different, carefully tailored to the mood of the night and the energy of the crowd. He doesn’t just play music—he guides listeners through a sonic experience, making sure that each transition feels natural and unexpected at the same time.
Starting out in the late 2000s, wAh quickly found his place in Dublin’s underground music scene. He’s played everywhere—from intimate club nights to large-scale festivals—always bringing his signature style and attention to detail.
But beyond just performing, one of his biggest contributions to the scene was his weekly Drum’n’Bass residency with Initial Kru throughout the 2010s. This wasn’t just about playing sets—it was about building a community, keeping the scene alive, and giving both DJs and fans a place to come together and celebrate the music.
“Running a weekly night was both a challenge and a blast. It wasn’t just about playing music—it was about creating a space for people to connect and keeping the Drum’n’Bass community strong in Dublin.”
His experience running a weekly event taught him how to keep things fresh—how to structure sets so that no two nights felt the same, and how to ensure that every performance was an experience worth remembering.
At Out of Order, wAh will be closing out the night, meaning he’ll have the freedom to take the crowd on a full journey through Drum’n’Bass.
“I guess I’ll be playing late, so be ready for some serious Drum’n’Bass to close out the night.”

“Honestly, it’s more about the love of the craft than anything else. I’m happy to play gigs here and there, but I don’t see DJing as my full-time path.”
That doesn’t mean he’s slowing down—he still jumps behind the decks whenever the right opportunity comes along, keeping his love for Drum’n’Bass alive while balancing other aspects of life.
Outside of music, he enjoys traveling, sports, and cooking—all things that, in some way, influence his DJing. Whether it’s the energy of a new city, the discipline of sports, or the creativity of cooking, these passions have a way of sneaking into his sets, shaping the way he approaches music.
