The competition will end at 6pm Saturday 11th & winner will be announced on Sunday.
Go n-éirí leat! Grá mór 💋

Alas, the time is now… for the long awaited re-stock of my ‘Breacadh an Lae’ scarves!! Inspired by the history of Newgrange and the break of day from dusk to dawn on the Winter solstice, these scarves are not only an appreciation of our heritage, but there’s a bit of Gaeilge and cló Gaelach sprinkled on top ✨
There’s a limited number available and this design will possibly be going into retirement as I feel like a brand spanking new scarf design is due next winter, don’t you?
Get them before they’re dusht and tag a bestie who you think would rock one!
Coziness guaranteed ✅

Coming soon 👀 the return of the ‘Breacadh an Lae’ scarves and possibly the last time to get your filthy paws on them!
I designed these scarves last year as a nod to Ireland’s beautiful history in my home county of Meath. They’re inspired by the winter solstice at Newgrange, with ‘Breacadh an lae’ referring to the moment at dawn when the day breaks from night to morning.
The scarves will be available in a few weeks so keep your eyes peeled for the drop!
GRMA to the best model @e.fitzp and @unaquill_design for the 📸

Better late than never! I created this chair during my time at @iedesignwest in Galway. My time there opened my mind to how far I could push my work - graphic design doesn’t just have to be on paper (who would’ve thought?!)
My chair is a modern version of the 3 legged ‘Tuam Chair’ which was common in Connaught over 100 years ago. I used the chair to tell a visual story about how there’s not enough care being taken by our government to preserve and promote our native tongue - it’s often overshadowed.
I used Máirtín Ó Direáin’s poem ‘Faoiseamh a Gheobhadsa’ which wraps around the chair in the Irish typeface (font) I designed. This beautiful poem is about a sense of identity in places and people, land and language.
The poem is hard to read at a decent pace as your eyes are taken on a journey around the chair to be able to read it - highlighting the difficulty of accessing the Irish language in public spaces.
A huge go raibh míle maith agaibh to all the team at Design Wesht 💚

For anyone who is interested in one of my ‘Fite Fuaite’ woven throws, I’m finally taking orders for them (link in my bio if you’re lookin’)!
I designed the throw as a visual response to the relationship between the Irish language and landscape, with the term ‘Fite Fuaite’ meaning ‘intertwined’. Then I designed the Irish inspired typeface (font) which is used on the throw for the lettering.
There’s some info on the project on the ‘NCAD Works 2022’ website if you’re keen to learn more about it, or ~throw~ me a DM if you have any questions!
The dimensions are 54” x 40” and there’s a very limited number available.
Grá mór 💚
Go raibh míle to everyone who came to see my project ‘Fite Fuaite’ at the degree show, especially the opening night - what a hoolie!
Here’s the book outcome from my project, which goes by the same name, meaning ‘intertwined/interwoven’. This publication houses the stories, poems, and photos of Gaeilgeoirí across Ireland, and gives the reader an insight into the intertwined relationship between the Irish language and the landscape.
The book is entirely made from handmade, recycled paper, with sections of the cover being made from old beer matts and plants. The book can be seen as a sensory experience, with some of the pages being textured to give the feeling of being immersed in the nature of the landscape while flicking through the pages. I hand cut out the cover which is based off a landscape photo I took in a Donegal Gaeltacht, and the typeface ‘Feirste’ used is a modern take on an Irish typeface.
Creating this book was such a pleasure and getting to speak to so many Gaeilgeorí and hear their passions and grá for the Irish language was a beautiful experience 💚
GRMA to all involved 🌀

(2/2) Some up close and personal shots of the ‘Fite Fuaite’ wall hanging/throw I designed 🌊
I based the pattern off landscape photos I took in Gaeltacht areas over the past year - it’s my take on a ‘contemporary’ way of viewing the landscape. Then the textured part of the pattern was from a drawing I did of a Celtic knot I saw in the Book of Kells, which showed two beings intertwined with one another. I distorted this drawing beyond recognition by putting it through a coding generator and - voila, we got ourselves a pattern!
The lettering was also designed by me, inspired by old Irish type - but more on that later shhhhh
(1/2) First of three outcomes from my project ‘Fite Fuaite’: A woven wall hanging/throw/blanket/tapestry/rug/thingy!
This is my visual response to the term ‘Fite Fuaite’, meaning intertwined/interwoven in the Irish language - a term often used to explain the relationship between the landscape and the Irish language (also used to describe Hiberno-English).
The intention of this outcome is to promote the Irish language while reflecting on its relationship with our land, as I have based the pattern off landscape photographs I took in Gaeltacht areas the past year.
I designed the typeface (font) which was used to visualise the words ‘Fite Fuaite’ here, which I based off old Irish type.
And last, but not least 🥁 this wee tapestry-thingymabob pays homage to the Irish craft of weaving!
Motion graphic I designed for @tomomi_maezawa ‘s talk next week as part of the ‘In the Making’ lecture series!
I designed this gif to reflect Tomomi’s playful work by roughly cutting out hand lettering I drew onto paper, then making a stop motion from the letters. Really looking forward to hearing more about Tomomi’s work and what her process is like 🌟

I made some new posters for @peardublin and their gig with @clubfitnessfm in April 🏃♀️ such a pleasure it’s been making posters for them!
These posters are a combination of my own hand-drawn illustrations and many images collaged together which I then coded to make some weird and wonderful outcomes!
Posters I made for the rally tomorrow at the National Gallery of Ireland at 6pm. The rally has been set up by @chocolatecalienteconchile of @enddp_actiongroup whose slides I’ve included in this post. Give @enddp_actiongroup a follow to find out more and to show support!
Feel free to share these posters around to get the word out about the rally.

Some posters I made for the lovely @peardublin lads and their gig with @itspeach_ !
Made these by collaging a whole load of images and textures for some cosmic magic 🍑🍐

'Breacadh an Lae' is my scarf collection inspired by the winter solstice - the alignment of the break of dawn through the roof box at Newgrange!
Each graphic element of the scarf is influenced by the history and magic of Brú na Bóinne, which rests in my home county of Meath 🌀
The scarves are double sided - one side symbolising dusk and the other dawn. There is type on one side reading 'Breacadh an Lae' in a modern Irish typeface, and the fringing is a mix of each colour in the palette.
Thanks so much for all the interest in my scarves, I’ll have them on the website soon! I only have a very limited number at the minute, they might sell like hot cakes so get ‘em while they’re hot 🥵

🎄It’s that time of year again folks🎄 Drum roll please for the new Gaeilge Bhriste print in oráiste… and welcoming back an ol’ reliable - the Tinteán print in medium blue & fluorescent pink (we missed her!!)
They are Risograph printed, A3 in size, and printed onto 170gsm paper so they’re sturdy!
As mentioned in my original posts about the prints, the motivation behind making them is to promote the Irish language through a contemporary lens, using ancient Irish typefaces. Whether you just have cúpla focail or you’re a gaelgóir - the language belongs to us all to celebrate 💚
I’m running a discount for the month of December where you can get €10 off your order if you get more than 1 print. Link in my bio!

‘Pathetic Fallacy’ is in the Dublin Art Book Fair at @templebargalleryandstudios from 25th Nov - 5th Dec - swing by if you get the chance!
‘Pathetic Fallacy’ is a collaborative book that myself and a lovely bunch of people created and designed after a week of exploring and foraging in our surroundings. It houses memories good and bad, personal stories, findings, and great chats - all which resonate with the weather! Making this publication really made me see the poetic nature between human emotion and the weather ☔️
@caroldotie, @_a_va & I collaborated on our pages and based them off a daft conversation we had about the weather, and how each element affects us and the memories they bring 🌩
Printed at the @dropoutpress. Special thanks to @katebrangan for running this workshop! #dabf21 #dublinartbookfair
Another poster I made for the @peardublin lads for their gig with my fave @ben___ufo this month!
For the graphic, I made a 3D wireframed black hole type specimen and layered with lots of textures and colours. If you look close enough you might spot the UFO image I took from a 1970s magazine that I hid in there somewhere 🛸 fun times!

Was delighted to be asked by the Centre for Contemporary Art in Derry to create a visual piece for @vebossert.art’s beautiful text ‘Portrait of Y’ 🌷
The result was a Risograph print, where I pulled quotes from the text and enlarged them in order to highlight the memories within it.
The print was on display at @ccadld as part of their Window Texts exhibition!
